Rekos carpeting
polyamide (PA)
Also known as nylon, this is an unsurpassed synthetic covering choice. Half-price of wool, polyamide value is nevertheless 3 times greater than that of polypropylene. Nylon fibers are distinctly resilient, porous and crush-resistant; they are very receptive to dyeing whatever shades of colors. Due to its firmness and abrasion-resistance, nylon defies the effects of heavy traffic and furniture impact, thus ensuring carpet appearance and color retention. Such carpets provide an unmatched non-flammability, versatility and practical performance.
A notorious weakness of the nylon fiber is its high static propensity. This downside can be somewhat moderated by applying a fine Teflon coating onto the spun yarn (3M Scotchguard technology).
