Latex rubber (foam cushion) application is a painstaking process. It involves 2 phases: applying coating and polymerizing it. Secondary latex backing is evenly and finely sprayed over the primary backing. For this synthetic rubber latex is normally diluted with an additive like calcium carbonate.
To trigger off foam-formation process, heat effect is necessary. Under certain thermal conditions, as a result of polymerization foam back is generated. The quality of foam rubber is easily measured by its pore size and density per volume unit: the denser are pores and less in size, the thicker and finer the rubber is.
