Rekos carpeting
pile height
Normally, pile ranges from 3 to 20 mm in height. Long, cut surface yarns are employed in shag type carpeting. In loop-pile shag carpet the yarn length makes up nearly half of the carpet pile height.
There are several methods to regulate spun yarn height, for instance by means of changing the width of the base (metal frame fixing the basic cloth and needles).
Additionally, the pile height is determined by the tufting gun class. Generally, devices of lower grade apply more stitches per area unit, which enhances the entire item weight. Therefore, carpets of lower gauge are commonly short pile.
The pile height is arguably secondary factor in the face weight control. It is a time-consuming yet more efficient and versatile technique as compared to stitch-per-area-unit regulation.
